- “It is never a bad thing when the people are engaged.” – Congressman Mike Rogers (AL-03)
- Have a refreshing can of Diet Pepsi! But look out for frogs.
- President Obama has decided that just the thing for the health care “debate” would be…a speech! Good plan, man. I mean, you haven’t done any of those. It’s coming September 9, to a Capitol rotunda near you. Will he change gears, proposing measured, reasonable, thoughtful reforms? Or will he continue to say “adopt my plan or watch civilization end“? I can find something to like about either path.
- Human Centipede! Now this looks like the feel-good movie of the fall.
- I shall devour South Carolina at North Carolina State tonight as if it were a marquee game with title implications. I’m starved. (I think I remember doing the same thing with Arkansas vs. UNLV one year. At least this will probably be a little better than that.)
- The latest tortured effort to build anything but a station wagon (too nerdy) or a two-box SUV (unfashionably insensitive) is the Honda Accord Crosstour. Yeesh. I’ll pass. You know, Honda, the American car-buying public has historically turned up its collective nose at hatchbacks as well, even on the low end. How are you going to sell them a $30K one?
- Hey, have you ever wondered how a pizza made from three Lunchables would be? Me either, but someone did, and wrote about it in an entertaining fashion. I love people.

Boise St vs. Oregon is the late night West Coast game. Should look like a video game on a bad tube TV played by those teams on the Smurf Turf.
Boise don’t lose at home.
Both games last night sucked. Watching NCState struggle to even get a first down was a painful reminder of another early game I watched last year. “Shudder” What a letdown. I was really looking forward to watching college ball again (finally!), but what can you expect from the Wolfpeckers and Gamecoots?
The Pepsi thing made me gag just looking at it. Nasty, yes. Bad enough to merit the multi-million dollar lawsuit that’s coming? No.
By the way, I kind of like the looks of that Honda, but then I have always loved station wagons. They are incredibly handy cars. Love having all that cargo space. When I drove my Subaru wagon I was able to haul the dogs around without getting hair all over the seats. That might make me uncool, but there it is…
