Someone asked for a mullet photo a while back. Here you go.
The first shot is at the apartment of Charles, Russ, Byron, and Joel at Rose Towers on the campus of the University of Alabama in the fall of 1988. That’s Charles (looking pretty mulletlicious himself) kissing Michelle, and yours truly ruining the romantic moment. Incidentally, she was just holding the beer can for dramatic effect. We weren’t drinking it, of course, because that would have been illegal.

One thing about the mullet is that when costume party time rolled around, it lent itself well to going in drag. The next shot is at a company party at the home of my bosses, and again, I’m probably fairly lubricated. I’d guess this is Halloween 1990. My sister Jenny and her friend Amanda did my makeup and hair. I was a smokin’ hot chick, baby. I’d have done me.

Finally, here I am making dumplings for the 1992 Slovo-Slavic Club Eastern Rites Christmas Party, which I also emceed. This wasn’t long before I cut it to get a job, and I actually rather liked this look. (Really just long; not quite so mullety.) No lubrication yet, but it would come later in the evening, as these were some of the greatest parties I ever attended. They count for lots of points on my partying resumé. If you want to have one of the greatest times of your life, get a bunch of Russians and others of Slavic descent together. Sing, dance, and ply them with $1.75 drinks, and you’ll get your head to the pillow about 10:30 the next morning. Maybe we’ll go this year.

Wow. Just, wow.
I. I. Is your hair really that dark? Hard to tell when you wear it 1/8″ long.
‘seester: Not any more. There’s gray in it these days.
For the record, I started dating him after the mullet was gone but before he decided it was a good idea to periodically shave his head. He swears I would have gone out with him anyway but I don’t know. He had really great hair!
Help…please…can’t…stop…laughing…!!!!!
No…really…I can’t stop laughing. I finally get a girl in my bed and here comes Bo. In all actuality I had a better chance of hooking up with Bo that night. These are the kind of photos that shouldn’t be on the internet. Not because of the mullets and beer but because of the Dallas Cowboys football helmet lamp in the background! Bo would also be interested to know, that was the smallest bedside digital clock I ever owned. Maybe ever made!
