Well, the beautiful and talented–and make no mistake, she is both–Lindsay Lohan turns 21 today.

The journey to adulthood is an occasionally trying one for a young lady. But now she has arrived, with all associated trials and morals fully incorporated into her spirit. Isn’t the passage from childhood a lovely thing to behold?

There may be new friends. There will certainly be new experiences. She may take that first tiptoe into adult nightlife, and maybe even stay out later than she ever has before. And now that she is legal, she will no longer have to shamefully hide whatever occasional alcoholic beverage she sneaked when she was underage.

With new opportunities come new pressures. But with mastery of the lessons of childhood and adolescence girding her, she is surely up to whatever this new and exciting world offers her.

Congratulations, Lindsay!

    1. For the sarcasm-impaired amongst you, the number of which has somewhat depressed me: I think Lindsay Lohan is a pathologically needy woman-child, and a good solid two-thirds of the way to full-blown skank. The post is not sincerely congratulatory. “Maybe even stay out later than she ever has before”? “She will no longer have to shamefully hide whatever occasional alcoholic beverage…”? Come on, folks.

    2. Ha!
