I’ve been friends with Saintseester for most of three years now. She is frosty. I am attracted to her intelligence, her wit, and her character.
In all this time, I’ve never actually watched a Saints game in the same room with her. As it turns out, the first one will be the most important Saints game that has occurred in that time. She’s having a few folks around for tonight’s NFC championship game vs. the Vikings. They win this one, and it’s off to Super Bowl XLIV to face the Colts-Jets winner. (Looking a lot like the Colts at this writing.)
See, here’s the thing. She’s not eating properly, and she didn’t get any sleep last night. Now that’s a disruptive fanhood.
I’m looking forward to the fellowship, the crawfish pie, and the game itself, but I must admit a certain sociological curiosity here too. Will I recognize my friend?
If, heaven forbid, the Saints drop the game, will I be pegged as the changed factor in the equation, and never be invited back? Heh.
Go Saints!

Pack your bags, because you realize that you have to be at every game until they lose again. It’s that voodoo.
Really glad you could come and bear witness to my superstitious, gutter-mouthed, yet somehow still a lady behavior; I was a wee bit stressed, but that’s pretty darn normal for me.
I had a blast. Thank you for the invitation. Enjoyed hanging out with everyone, and enjoyed the game. Actually getting you to flip me off was just the cherry on top.
Fear T-Bob Hebert.
I’m glad you came; glad you had fun and got to eat the Crunk cookie. Now, I am waking to the reality of having to work today.
What’s worse is now she (and I) have to recreate the party everytime there is a crunch game. So my peeps who attended last night are also on the reserve list for attendance at Chez Waterman.
We were in New Orleans last night – did not go to the game because even the crappy seats were way too expensive – but we were there for the after party on Bourbon St. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. We think it lasted till about 4am (at least it sounded like it from our hotel room).
I still can’t believe we won and that we’re going to the Superbowl. As Jim Henderson, the voice of the Saints, put it last night – “Pigs have flown, and hell has frozen over!”.
What a great season to be a Saints fan. After all these years, we’ve definitely earned it. Can’t wait for Feb. 7!
