You think they've ever closed a pitch for rain in Scotland or Ireland? J.D. has been 0 for 2 on club-level games b/c the park thinks the fields are too soggy. THAT'S WHEN IT'S FUN! Ball moves at light speed, mud flying, and the kids who play the ball close-quarter, knife-fight style like J.D. thrive. We're a bunch of sissies. That always makes me chuckle. Lea saw on the local AYSO web site that Palmer was closed today, but had never heard from Nathan's coach. She called him, and he was headed there. She called me, conveniently commuting, and I drove by there and both gates were closed and locked. I'm looking at the forecast for overnight and tomorrow, and thinking "no way in hell." And, the California car comment that cracked me up was the one about banning fast foods because they "raise the surface area of California inhabitants" causing them to absorb more sunlight and need more a/c to stay cool.
