Apparently Stephen Colbert (and I just barely know who that is, so shallow is my hipness) was running for president, planning to campaign only in South Carolina.

The Democrat Party has stopped his bid, questioning its legitimacy.  Charleston Democrat party chairman Waring Howe reportedly said such a bid would—now get your brain around this, because presumably he said it with a straight face—”make a mockery of the political process.”

Uh-huh.

Well, there you go.  I mean, because, you know, the political process is always executed somberly and fastidiously, by only those deeply serious people truly concerned with bettering society through selfless service.

Plus, who the hell does he think he is?  He isn’t even a lawyer.

    1. I’m right there with you in the shallow end, Bo – I only barely know who he is, too.

I’m still trying to wrap my brain around the idea that the ACTUAL PRIMARY isn’t for another YEAR! A YEAR, People! 365 days, give or take. I’m burned out already! By the time November 2008 comes around, I may seriously consider defecting to England or something. Oh, or maybe Hawaii – no one campaigns out there, right?
